Test Results Information

Here are the answers to your questions about IELTS test results:

  1. How long does it take for my test results to arrive?

Answer: Your test results will be posted to you 13 days after you have taken the test. Some test centers may offer the option to receive results by SMS or access them online. It is recommended to contact your test center to inquire about these options. Occasionally, there may be delays in receiving results beyond the 13-day period.

  1. How long are my IELTS results valid?

Answer: Your IELTS results are valid for a period of 2 years from the test date. After this period, the scores are considered outdated and may not be accepted by institutions or immigration authorities.

  1. Can I get my IELTS test remarked?

Answer: Yes, it is possible to request a remark, also known as an Enquiry on Results (EOR), for your IELTS test. There is a fee associated with this service, and the cost may vary depending on the test center. If your band score improves as a result of the remark, the fee will be refunded. You have a window of 6 weeks after taking the test to request a remark. The remarking process involves assessment by a different examiner, and it typically takes about 6 to 8 weeks for the remark results to be available. Alternatively, you have the option to retake the test if you prefer.

  1. If I take the IELTS twice, which result can I use?

Answer: You can choose to use the test result in which you achieved the highest score. As long as that result is still within the valid period (not more than two years old), it can be submitted to institutions or immigration authorities.

  1. My IELTS results have not arrived, and it is more than 13 days late. Why has this happened?

Answer: If your IELTS results are delayed beyond the usual 13-day timeframe, there may be specific reasons for this. Delays can occur due to various factors, such as administrative issues, high test volumes, or technical problems. It’s important to note that specific procedures and policies may vary slightly between test centers. To get accurate and up-to-date information regarding your test results, remarking, and any potential delays, it is recommended to contact your local test center directly.

For any specific concerns or inquiries about your IELTS test results, it is always best to contact your local test center or refer to the official IELTS website for the most accurate and reliable information.
